FLOATING QUESTIONS

Please allow 15 minutes before your first session to complete the necessary paperwork and induction process. We will provide you with a detailed explanation of how to float in our pods.

WHAT CAN I BRING?
Any hair or body care products you use after showering
and your own hair brush or comb.

WHAT IS PROVIDED?

Showers, towels, shampoo, conditioner, disposable ear plugs, hairdryers, q-tips, filtered water and special shampoo for treated hair (ask for it at reception)

WHAT DO I WEAR DURING A FLOAT SESSION?

The float tanks are in private rooms with individual showers.

You can wear a bathing suit if you prefer, but most people do not wear anything while floating.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

Avoid stimulants like coffee, caffeinated tea, cigarettes 2 hours prior to floating. We will not allow you to float if you are under the influence of alcohol or any illegal drugs.

Do not float if you have an illness, epilepsy, active or a contagious skin condition, or any large open wounds.

Prior to floating do not eat for at least one hour.

We recommend that you do not shave the day of your float (or a minimum of 4 hours prior) as the salt will sting those areas. If you have any unhealed cuts or burns, we provide gel for protection.

Wait at least 3 days after dying or coloring your hair as the salt may change the color.

WHAT DO I DO BEFORE FLOATING?
You will take a shower prior to floating in order to remove all hair products, soaps and lotions. We provide bath products and clean towels.

WHAT IF I GET CLAUSTROPHOBIC OR JUST DON’T FEEL RIGHT DURING THE FLOAT?
At no time during your float are you trapped inside the pod.  You can always sit up, open the door, and get some air.  You are under no obligation to stay in the tank for the entire float session. If you still have hesitations and would like to schedule a time to see the tank before committing to an appointment, please contact us to schedule a no-obligation float consultation.

HOW DOES THE SESSION END?
Floating is a deeply relaxing experience. To indicate your session has ended, you will be gently roused from your relaxed state by either the sound of music and light or the sound of the water jets. Within a few minutes, you should prepare to get up and shower.  If you have fallen asleep, we will gently knock on the door.

CAN I FLOAT IF I'M PREGNANT?
As always, it is important that you check with your health care professional first, for any conditions that might be specific to you.  We are not qualified to give medical advice.

Many women have no problem with floating through their pregnancy, and report that they find powerful relief in a tank, and also a wonderfully enhanced connection with their baby. See our extended discussion of the subject.

CAN CHILDREN FLOAT?
In many cases, yes, it’s fine for children to float.  The most important thing is to make sure that they personally really want to, and that they understand that they are allowed to get out of their float whenever they like.  We do not encourage reluctant kids to float.

We will allow clients aged fourteen years and up to float on their own recognizance.

Children aged nine years and up are allowed to float if a guardian is present in the center and prepared to attend to the child if they come out of their session early.

IS IT CLAUSTROPHOBIC?
Many people have worries of one kind or another, but it’s very rarely a problem. For one, the tank is actually much bigger on the inside than you might think, and you can sit up and move around easily. If you want, you can also leave the door cracked or wide open with a light on — some people find that helpful. The key to remember is you’re in total control of the experience.

CAN I FLOAT IF I'M MENSTRUATING?
Yes.  Just use the same precautions you’d use for a swimming pool or hot tub.

CAN I DRIVE HOME?
Generally this is no problem.  Some people, though, do come out of the tank in a very trance-y, sleepy altered state, and need some time to come back to normal before being ready to drive.  We encourage you not to be in a hurry to get out the door after your float.  We have water and comfortable chairs you’re welcome to occupy for as long as you like.

SAUNA QUESTIONS

Please allow 15 minutes before your first session to complete the necessary paperwork and induction process. We will provide you with an explanation of how our sauna works.

HOW LONG IS THE SESSION?

30 Minutes

WHAT CAN I BRING?
A swim suit to wear into the sauna and a large, preferably non-metal, water bottle to use in the sauna.

WHAT IS PROVIDED?

Towels, hairdryers, and filtered water.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

Make sure you are hydrated. You will sweat a lot.

Prior to using the sauna do not eat for at least 30 minutes. It is like working out and your heart rate will increase. Working out on a full stomach is not pleasant and can make you nauseous.

WHAT DO I WEAR DURING A SAUNA SESSION?

You can wear a bathing suit or wrap a towel around you.

CAN I SAUNA IF I'M PREGNANT?
We are not qualified to give medical advice. We strongly recommend NO SAUNA in the first 12 weeks during pregnancy. After that we ask that you get approval from your doctor prior to coming in.

CAN I DRIVE HOME?
Generally this is no problem.  Some people, though, do come out of the sauna in a very trance-y, sleepy altered state, and need some time to come back to normal before being ready to drive.  We encourage you not to be in a hurry to get out the door after your float.  We have water and comfortable chairs you’re welcome to occupy for as long as you like.

NEUROFEEDBACK QUESTIONS

Please allow 15 minutes before your first session to complete the necessary paperwork and induction process.

HOW LONG IS THE SESSION?
35 Minutes

WHAT CAN I BRING?
You don't need to bring anything. For children we recommend you bring an entertainment device to help them sit still.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

No preparation is needed.

HOW MANY TRAINING SESSION ARE RECOMMENDED?

The Six Session “Rule”
We often tell clients that they will likely notice SOMETHING shift within six sessions. Early on, clients commonly report shifts in their sleep patterns, feeling well rested, having an improved outlook and engaging more effectively with colleagues or loved ones. Changes you experience may or may not be related to the goals you came in with, but generally speaking, any kind of shift is a positive indication that the NeurOptimal® brain training is working as designed.

The “New Normal” Threshold
How much neurofeedback training does it take to get to your “new normal”? As NeurOptimal® has improved and evolved, reaching a new, improved baseline for users has become quicker and quicker. We say at least 20 sessions were necessary to help with issues bothering you in the "here and now"; 30 plus sessions for "deeper" problems that originated earlier in life. Now we are now finding significant results occur in much less time. Today, it is possible you could be feeling much better in fewer than 10 neurofeedback training sessions.

WHAT HAPPENS IF/WHEN I STOP?

You can stop whenever you feel ready and return for booster sessions to tune up and strengthen what your brain has already learned. You will never lose what you have, even if it your brain’s optimal operation becomes a little rusty. In fact, many clients continue brain training on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to maintain their brain fitness for a lifetime. NeurOptimal® is non-invasive and naturopathic, so it may be used as long as you like. Similar to the benefits of exercise for the body, neurofeedback can be an important tool for brain health, as it keeps the central nervous system in tip-top shape. You can make NeurOptimal® neurofeedback training central to your personal brain fitness program as you age.

CAN I DRIVE HOME?
Yes it is completely safe and non-evasive brain entrainment.
