Normatec Compression Recovery
What is Normatec® Compression Recovery Boots?
The roots lie in the science of blood flow: Your circulatory system delivers oxygen, nutrients and hormones to every cell in your body. Simultaneously, this complex circuit removes metabolic wastes such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid, effectively flushing your system of toxins.
The idea behind compression therapy is that by increasing blood flow to specific parts of the body -- encouraging your body to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to those areas -- you can speed up recovery, relieve pain and improve athletic performance.
Peristaltic Pulse Dynamic Compression, commercially known as NormaTec, is a recovery system that uses pulsed compression that aims to reduce swelling, improve lymphatic return, increase blood flow and reduce pain.
NormaTec is growing in popularity, especially Stateside. It’s the official recovery tool for Ironman in USA while various teams and athletes use NormaTec to aid their recovery including baseball (Boston Red Sox), post training by many basketball players (Boston Celtics, LA Lakers, LeBron James, Shaq), gymnastics (Simone Biles), even rapper Drake!
Recovery fads come and go but with the ever-growing evidence base behind NormaTec this is a recovery tool that’s bound to stand the test of time.
What should I expect during a NormaTec® session?
Our sessions are booked for 45 min of compression. You wear boots that massage your whole leg with firm air compression. Please wear loose clothing for best effect. Compression boots are perfect after a workout or combined after a float therapy session.
What are some of the benefits of a compression session?
Compression therapy has been around for decades as a medical treatment. In fact, NormaTec -- one of the biggest compression therapy names in the market -- started as a medical device company to treat a condition called lymphedema (chronic swelling).
